Ahmedabad has its own World Class Chess Club now!
Started on 28th April, Tirth Chess Club is the first Chess club of Gujarat started by a few Chess enthusiasts from Ahmedabad, Surat and Baroda. The aim of the club is to promote Chess & train the upcoming chess-talents to showcase them to the world.
A huge playing area that accommodates 50 playing tables, AC classrooms, Library related to Chess, e-learning are few of the many key features that the Club has. They also have a Tournament hall that can house more than 400 people at a time. Look out for much awaited All India Chess Federation’s Tournament.
Joy Chauhan, one of the co-founders & winner of Gujarat 2006 tournament, has shifted his base from Surat to Ahmedabad with the sole purpose of setting up & running the club. He has taught well known players like Jeet Jain & Aditya Vaidya.
They currently have 6 dedicated tutors who run different batches for different age group, depending upon students’ current chess learning stage.
The fee moves anywhere from Rs. 500 for a basic course of 10 days to Rs. 5000 yearly for those are aiming high in Chess.
